Nyale smell is one of the unique cultural festival held in Indonesia. In this festival , thousands of people came from all over Lombok to get worms nyale which became a symbol of blessing .
With a count of the Sasak calendar , peak Nyale smell Festival falls on February 20, 2014 , starting from midnight . The main event started with rituals and ends with down to the sea to seek nyale , worms bring blessings . detikTravel was also present in this nyale search .
Thousands of people took to Seger Beach neighborhood in Central Lombok . The beach has become one of the beaches where the emergence of worms nyale . By lighting the moon and stars, as well as a flashlight , this Nyale seekers poured into the sea . No matter the cold wind or waves , the people seriously looking for nyale red , green , brown or white .
That said , Nyale believed to be the incarnation of Princess Mandalika form . Legend tells , the daughter of the sea to drown himself and become worms in order for him to be useful for many people .
